Kok Rokar (Preah Theat) Temple
11th century
Kok Rokar (Preah Theat) Temple is an 11th-century Shiva sanctuary built of sandstone and laterite during the reign of King Suryavarman I. Located on a hill in Rokar Village, Steung Sen Town, it is roughly 14 km from Kampong Thom provincial town.Designed in the Khleang architectural style, the isolated, east-facing rectangular sanctuary features a conical central tower, octagonal diamond columns, and three distinct lintels. The main structure has a single functioning eastern entrance alongside three false doors, all enclosed within a 25-meter square laterite rampart with gopuras (gateways) facing the four cardinal directions, surrounded by the remnants of an ancient moat.
